What we are

DevBizTools is a growing collection of small, genuinely useful calculators built for people who run their own business — freelancers, indie developers, and solo consultants. Each tool solves one clear problem: figure out your rate, compare hosting costs, and eventually much more.

Every tool is paired with blog content that explains the math behind it, so you understand your numbers — not just see them.

Why this exists

Most rate calculators online give you a number without context. Most hosting comparisons only show monthly price, not total cost over time. DevBizTools was built to fill that gap — practical tools with transparent breakdowns, designed to be shared in communities where freelancers actually hang out.

The site is maintained part-time by a freelance web developer. It's built on Next.js, runs entirely client-side for calculator logic, and stays free to use.

How we make money

DevBizTools is supported through affiliate links to services we genuinely recommend (hosting, invoicing, accounting tools) and, eventually, an optional email newsletter. We don't sell your data. Calculator inputs never leave your browser.

What's next

More calculators are on the way — invoice estimators, tax set-aside tools, contract rate escalation calculators, and others based on what freelancers actually need. New tools appear on the tools page as they launch.
